During Sunday evening players were unable to log in to Battlefield 2 correctly or see the server lists in BF2 and BF2142. This was quickly noticed by EA and GameSpy who had engineers working to restore the service as fast as possible.

After investigation the problem was located and resolved and service resumed at approximately 22:30 GMT (14:30 PST). The outage was the result of a load balancer that didn’t failover to its backup correctly, all account and server list access has returned to normal.
